LETTER FROM THE CHAIRMAN

Bob Andrews

One of the greatest benefits of serving as IBOAI Chair is that I have the opportunity to meet, work with, and lend support to so many incredible people in this Business, including our dedicated friends at the Corporation.

The upbeat, productive discussions that took place during the Board committee sessions in June generated excellent ideas and solid plans for the future. Your Board and MAC mean business! - They're passionate, positive, and dedicated Leaders committed to enhancing and strengthening this Business Opportunity for you, your families, and generations to come. I am continually in awe of their hard work and impressed by their innovative ideas and smart problem-solving.

The Board's connection with the Corporation is strong and unshakable. Many Amway North America executives attended June Board meetings - ANA Managing Director Jim Ayres, Chief Marketing Officer Jackie Nickel, and Vice President of Sales Rajneesh Chopra. A very special partner, Amway President of the America Candace Matthews, spoke at the Closing Session. Each of them had a similar message: The IBO always comes first at the Corporation.

Although it may sound trite, I say it because it's absolutely true: your success in the Field is our success. The IBOAI is your voice and your support. We were founded in 1959 to fairly represent all IBOs - and that's exactly what we will continue to do - wholeheartedly. Count on us!

Thank you for all you do!

Bob Andrews

North America is experiencing phenomenal growth - and just recorded the biggest May since 2000. "At Amway, our focus is 100% on supporting IBOs and your growth now and in the future. We want to be connected to you, learn what you do, and understand how we can help you be successful." Jim explained he is currently speaking to people in all areas of the Corporation - manufacturing, shipping, etc. - to help them understand what they do on the job impacts an IBO's business.

After expressing appreciation for the tremendous support of Jim Ayres, Rajneesh Chopra, and all of the Corporate staff who partner with the IBOAI, Kathy introduced a very special partner - Amway President of the Americas Candace Matthews. Candace remarked, "I feel the partnership between the Corporation and the IBOs of North America is strong. I hope we learn to listen, grow, and trust each other more and more." June 2016 IBOAI Board Meeting Notes

IBOAI® Attends 15th Annual U.S. Dream Academy Gala

The U.S. Dream Academy's 15th Annual Power of a Dream welcomed hundreds of advocates, donors, fans, and honorees on Tuesday, May 3 at the Renaissance in Washington, D.C. The gala was Emceed by celebrities Tamara Tunie and Laz Alonso. This special evening was themed "Growing Dreams".

Your IBOAI Officers and several Board members enjoyed the gala in recognition and support of the U.S. Dream Academy's work and the evening's special honorees. Jody and Kathy Victor were joined by Bob and Terry Andrews, Bill and Sandy Hawkins, Shivaram Kumar and Raj Shah. Many IBOs and Amway staff were gala guests, demonstrating powerful support of U.S. Dream Academy from the Field and Corporation.

With Amway as the gala's presenting sponsor, Amway President of the Americas Candace Matthews, kicked off the event with a heartwarming greeting. She spoke of the importance of the U.S. Dream Academy's mission and Amway's unwavering support of their work.

DreamKids Choir

As always, the DreamKids musical performance was one of several highlights. Representing Baltimore, Philadelphia and Washington D.C., the kids' enthusiasm, passion and talent brought the crowd to their feet.

DreamTeen Marcus Randolph delivered the keynote address, expressing gratitude for the positive impact the U.S. Dream Academy has had on his life over the past seven years. A sophomore at Digital Harbor High School, Marcus possesses a wisdom far beyond his 15 years, and powerful faith and endless hope for the future.

Wintley Phipps, Founder/President/CEO of U.S. Dream Academy, spoke briefly about the organization and its seven centers across the U.S. With pride, he shared that over 9,000 children have been helped by their after-school programs. A popular vocalist, Wintley treated the audience to an amazing musical performance.

Annual awards were presented to several deserving recipients. Deborah Roach of Philadelphia was the recipient of the Southwest Mentor of the Year Award. The Legacy Award was given to the Honorable Bobby G. Scott, Congressman from the third district of Virginia, serving his twelfth term. Congressman Scott's tireless work on behalf of children and criminal justice reform are beneficial to the Academy's mission. Jamie Casap, Chief Education Evangelist at Google, was honored with the President's Award, for his outstanding collaborative work with educational organizations and leaders.

The presentation of the MLK Jr. Award was an especially significant moment of the evening, for the recipient's achievements and the presenter's passionate belief in a person's ability to overcome obstacles. Jody Victor, IBOAI Governance & Oversight Chairman and U.S. Dream Academy Board member, presented this award to Jarrett M. Adams, JD. Jared is a Judicial Law Fellow in the Southern District of New York, a co-founder of Life After Justice, a re-entry specialist and strong advocate for criminal justice reform. Before his notable achievements, Adams was in the fight for his life after being wrongly convicted and sentenced to 28 years in a maximum security prison at the age of 17. Today, Jarrett is a sought-after motivational speaker. His incredible personal story is engaging and clear in its message, "Success requires you to struggle, strive, sustain, and survive."

IBOAI® Joins NFL Pro Jared Veldheer and Metro Health in Keeping the Beat

An annual event at Forest Hills Northern High School in Grand Rapids, the Jared Veldheer Football Camp for students in grades 5 through 8, raises money for the Metro Health Foundation "Keeping the Beat" program. Following tradition, the IBOAI sponsors the football camp to offer kids the opportunity to get tips and advice from a real professional, inform parents on sports injuries and heart screens, and to benefit Metro Health's program that provides free heart screens for local students. Those who registered early received a free camp T-shirt and autographed copy of Stay in the Game - Jared Veldheer's Journey to the NFL.

Keeping the Beat

As in years past, this fun, action-packed summer evening on June 28 featured a sports clinic for kids with NFL football pro, Jared Veldheer - Team Captain of the Arizona Cardinals, Hillsdale Two-time All American, and Forest Hills Northern alumnus.

Jared Veldheer spoke about fueling your mind and body as an athlete. The student campers were in awe of Jared Veldheer from the moment he came on the field and joined them in calisthenics. At 6'8" and 321 pounds, Jared's positive attitude and charisma are as powerful as his physical presence and athleticism. He encouraged the kids to work as hard as they can to reach their goals. He also reminded them, "Keep a positive attitude and realize you can't control everything so control what you can - don't get discouraged." Jared believes that good nutrition and hydration are key to a person's health and contribute to successful performance in sports. During the breaks, campers refueled with Perfect Empowered Drinking Water™ and XS™ Sports Protein Bars.

Dr. Brian J. Hinkley, a family practice specialist affiliated with Metro Health and "Keeping the Beat," spoke about the free student heart screening program for local students 12 to 18 years. Dr. Hinkley said, "To date, approximately 800 students have been screened for pre-existing conditions. We hold the screenings twice a year and during them, we provide AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) training."

The evening closed with campers participating in an invigorating game of Air Force football followed by two special treats - ice cream and the opportunity for an individual photo with Jared Veldheer.

WELL SAID!

Shivaram Kumar

"This is my third term on the IBOAI, which translates to 9 years of association with the sharpest minds in the Business. It is as fascinating as it is educational to be able to participate in the intense, energizing and fulfilling interactions with other Board members and Corporate staff. My recommendation to all IBOs is to familiarize themselves with all of the Board's accomplishments and contributions since its inception in 1959. I am grateful to be serving my second term in the Executive Committee as well. My time on the Board has enriched me with priceless information about the various moving parts that make our Business work. It has sharpened my understanding of the freedoms we have, as well as the rules and boundaries we must not cross. The IBOAI is unique not just to the North American Market, but to the entire direct selling industry."

- Shivaram Kumar, Awards & Recognition Committee and Executive Committee
