New Platinum Conference

New Platinum Conference

New Platinums arrived in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on Monday, May 9, excited to spend a few days with fellow New Platinums, Amway™ Corporate staff, and the IBOAI®! After the emerging leaders completed registration at the DeVos Center, they were greeted by IBOAI staff and presented with an attractive IBOAI logo notebook and pen. IBOs also received literature on the IBOAI, including the Year in Review brochure.

An Amway Merchandise Kiosk offering logo T-shirts, hats, and other mementos for sale was a popular stop for Platinums. They also enjoyed a Business and Product Experience Expo with a chance to speak with Amway staff, sample products, and pick up product brochures and business materials.

Their first day concluded with a wonderful welcome reception and dinner in the evening - plenty of smiles, hugs, laughter - and lots of photo-taking! You can bet Facebook®, twitter®, and Instagram® were buzzing with pictures and updates from NPC.

Following tradition, Day Two of New Platinum Conference (NPC) began with the much-anticipated Business Meeting. Once Amway Canada Sales Manager, Jeff Johnson, kicked off the meeting, the excitement level soared. It was evident the Platinums were fired up to hear of the many ways in which Amway supports IBOs and their success.

Although Jim Ayres, Managing Director of Amway North America (ANA) and Rajneesh Chopra, Vice President of U.S. Sales, are currently in London with the Amway Founders Council, a video was presented highlighting North America's outstanding business growth and sales results.

Jim Ayres spoke to the new Platinums via video, sharing his story of meeting Rich DeVos for the first time as a new Amway employee. He realized what an opportunity it was to work for a company that believes in people and their success, no matter what their background. He often heard Rich DeVos express to his employees and to IBOs, "Thank you for what you're doing. You're doing a great job. Keep it up!"

The special IBO guest speakers, Ainsley and Simone Lewis, traveled from Jamaica to share their inspirational success story. Last year, they attended NPC as New Platinums and now, Ainsley and Simone qualify as Emeralds. He said, "We had to pinch ourselves when we attended our first Achievers. It was a dream come true. We started this business to pay our bills but now it is about helping people, achieving dreams, about having hope." Simone added, "It was a challenge at times, but we kept going. We believed it could work and we worked to make it happen. We hope our story inspires you to work hard and help yourselves and others."

Closing the meeting on a high note, the audience warmly welcomed Bob Andrews on stage to talk about the "Foundation of Success". As a Crown, an IBO for 45 years, and current IBOAI Chairman, Bob knows and loves this Business.

Bob recommended IBOs secure their foundation by being optimistic - it gives you the power to turn a bad situation into a good one. Determination gives you the focus to achieve your goals. Resiliency is what you need to get back up when you've been knocked down.  Bob assured the New Platinums, "If you build a foundation of success through optimism, determination and resiliency, you can become a Diamond!" In response, every IBO Leader in the room was on his or her feet, vigorously applauding, cheering, and whistling.

The remainder of the day, Platinums attended education sessions on goal setting and the Rules of Conduct. In the evening, Platinums enjoyed dinner and entertainment at the XS® Energy Steampunk Circus, an exclusive event at the Grand Rapids Art Museum.
