Diamond Club / EDC

"Spectacular!" "Incredible!" "Absolutely gorgeous." Just a few of the remarks overheard on Monday, February 22 at Diamond Club 2016 at the luxurious, 32-acre Fairmont Orchid on the Big Island.

Diamond Club 2016Executive Diamonds and above began the beautiful, warm and sunny day with an early morning workout session. A cheerful greeting from the IBOAI and thoughtful gift of a colorful fitness towel added to the energy. While Diamonds arrived from North American cities near and far, many of the Executive Diamonds enjoyed a fabulous helicopter ride along the beautiful Kohala Coast. The Big Island abounds with sunshine and warm breezes, sugar-white sandy beaches, and glistening aquamarine waters. Many of Hawaii's best resorts and golf courses are nestled among jet-black and rusty red lava rock fields, resulting from volcano eruptions centuries ago. A sight to see from the air! There are also amazing petroglyph fields, lush tropical gardens, and stunning waterfalls to enjoy.

A popular daily event at this beach resort features the Hui Holokai Beach Ambassadors leading a string of playful keiki (children) behind them as they perform the nightly sunset torch lighting ceremony and blowing the pu (conch shell) to the four winds. It was a wonderful preface to the evening's Welcome Party for the Diamonds on Turtle Point, an especially good location to meet the native Hawaiian green sea turtles that bask on the shoreline every afternoon and evening. These interesting little creatures were a huge hit with the Diamonds!

Diamond Club 2016As always, the Diamond Club Welcome Party was a lively event with delightful treats for the senses - a vivid electronic sign on the lawn welcomed the Diamonds - a live band captivated the audience - brilliant, fresh tropical flowers lined the center of each table as beautiful aromatic decoration with the intention of attendees creating their own bouquets of Red Pineapple, Ginger, and Frangipani before departing. Even the native food was presented as mouthwatering works of art - a towering tree of tropical fruit including papaya, pineapple, passion fruit, mangos and lychee. The lavish buffet was filled with scrumptious salads, entrees and desserts.

Beyond the setting in "paradise" and the lovely weather, there is so much more being celebrated. You could feel the sense of pride, camaraderie, and hope in free enterprise and the future. As the IBOAI Board members mingled with fellow IBO Leaders and Amway executives, there was an abundance of hugs, handshakes, smiles and conversation. Just the beginning of what promises to be an unforgettable week on the Big Island at Diamond Club 2016!
