Nutrilite Passes $3 Billion Mark in Annual Sales
Nutrilite®,
the world's leading brand of vitamin, mineral and
dietary supplements,
posted a record $3.1 billion in sales
over the last 12 months as Amway/Quixtar's message of
optimal health resonates with consumers around the
world.
"This is quite an accomplishment for the Nutrilite brand
and the many thousands of Amway and Quixtar IBOs," said
Alticor President Doug DeVos. "Nutrilite has
become a recognized brand globally and is on track for
continued market growth in the years ahead as our IBOs
continue to make deeper inroads with our
health-conscious consumers."
"This is a remarkable achievement within an extremely
competitive global marketplace," said Candace Matthews,
Alticor's chief marketing officer. "The market validates
our findings that Nutrilite's
array of vitamins, minerals and dietary supplements are
among the best in today's market and will remain so for
years to come."
Dr. Sam Rehnborg,
president and CEO of the
Nutrilite Health Institute
and son of Nutrilite founder
Carl F. Rehnborg,
said, "My father had such big dreams for this business.
Hitting this milestone really justifies everything he
believed in. People around the world are beginning to
see, as he did, how important supplementation is to
achieving and maintaining good health. And our
multi-million sales network is carrying my father's
message to ever more consumers around the world."
The elder Rehnborg began marketing multivitamin and
multi-mineral food supplements in 1934 after he
dedicated himself to studying the effects of a balanced
diet and proper nutrition on people's health. In 1972,
Amway Corporation,
now a subsidiary of
Alticor,
acquired a controlling interest in Nutrilite Products,
Inc.,
and today emphasizes the importance of its products
through its message of optimal health. Amway acquired
the remaining shares in Nutrilite Products
from the Rehnborg family in 1994.
