One of the biggest
reasons people embrace this business is because of the independence it
offers. Instead of working for someone else, you can set your own
schedule and be your own boss. Better yet, you can take this business
wherever you want it to go.
But just because
you’re independent doesn’t mean you have to face the challenges of
business ownership by yourself.
That’s because there
are people in your corner who understand what it’s like to be in your
shoes. They are the
Independent Business Owners Association
International, an organization with the primary goal of representing
your interests with
Amway Global
by raising issues and communicating ideas that are important to every
IBO.
The
IBOA International works closely with
Amway Global
to stay on top of your needs, partnering on your behalf to keep this
business strong.
The
IBOA International is governed by a Board of Directors elected by
members of the
IBOA International. All are IBOs, just like you, who have
attained the level of Diamond and above. The Board of Directors meets at
Diamond Club and three other times during the year to discuss issues,
make recommendations, and to protect and promote your interests.
The
IBOA International Board includes the Executive Committee and five
standing committees with differing areas of responsibility:
-
The
Awards and Recognition Committee addresses all aspects of
Amway Global’s
incentive and awards programs.-
The
Legal and Ethics Committee focuses primarily on the Rules of Conduct
for Independent Business Owners. It also addresses a variety of
related topics such as the Internet, dispute resolution, and the
Business Support Materials Arbitration Agreement.
-
The
Business Operations Committee handles proposed changes to Independent
Business Owner benefits, new products and programs, distribution
methods, communication technology, and similar matters affecting the
operation of every IBO’s business.
-
The
International Committee focuses on new policies or changes to existing
policies regarding business outside of North America.
-
The
Hearing and Disputes Committee helps facilitate and promote the
mutually satisfactory resolutions of concerns and disputes as outlined
in the Rules of Conduct (11.3).
In
addition, the IBOAI Board supports the Marketing Advisory Committee
(MAC), also formed in partnership with
Amway Global.
The MAC provides input to the
IBOA International Board on a range of
topics including literature, product lines, marketing, and procedures.
(Look for more on the MAC in an upcoming issue.)
That’s
quite a team to have on your side. As a member, your ideas and
suggestions are what keep the
IBOA International effective. In growing
your business, you’ve overcome obstacles and developed solutions that
have helped you reach your goals. We want to hear about your successes.
And we want you to share your ideas on how we can continue to make this
the best opportunity there is!
