Who
is eligible to vote?
All qualified Platinums receive Voting Member status in the
Association and are eligible to vote in all
Independent Business Owners Association International
elections.
Who is eligible to serve as a Board Member?
Members who are qualified Diamonds or above are eligible for
nomination to the Board.
When are elections held?
The Association holds Board Member elections every fall. Board
Members elected during each election begin serving their three-year
terms on January 1st of the following year.
How are the elections structured?
Board Members serve three-year terms on a staggered basis. Previous
Board Members are eligible for re-election after remaining off
the Board for one year.
Voting Members receive a ballot in the mail listing all of the
nominated Independent Business Owners. The ballot includes brief
descriptions of each nominee. Voting Members have the opportunity
to vote. The nominees receiving the greatest number of votes
are named Board Members and begin serving their three-year terms
the following year.
